John D. Lantos MD is a general pediatrician, bioethicist, author and teacher.  He was Professor of Pediatrics at University of Chicago and University of Missouri.  He is a past president of the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities as well as the American Society of Law Medicine and Ethics. 

He has been a bioethics advisor to the Vatican, the President's Council of Bioethics, the Clinton Health Reform Task Force, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.  He has published a dozen books and hundreds of scholarly papers.

He is currently a general pediatrician in Peekskill NY at a clinic serving immigrants and refugees.
